Who's online
Bad News.
Why is it that it's always the bad news that make the news popular? Have you ever thought about that? Pick up a newspaper or watch the local news station. Majority of the articles or reports are on bad things that happens. There are car accidents, arrests, bad weather, and what-nots.
Besides that, people only notice the bad news too. Nobody takes the time to read the good news. For instance, if I came up to you and said I got hired, you'd probably go congrats to me. And at most you'd probably ask me what my job is. Now if I came up to you and said I got fired. You probably jump out of your shoes and ask me every single detail. You'd probably want to know what I did, what the manager said, what I said back. How I left, what was the reason. And so on and so forth.
Why is it that humans are attracted to bad news? You have friends and family from all over. When they are in perfectly good health, you always think that you can visit them next time and next time. Since you think they'll always be there. You don't make instant travel plans to see them, nor would you even consider wasting your precious vacation time on them.
Next thing you know, they're in the hospital, just pending death. You then drop everything and rush there. Now would you be considered caring? Yes, you would be caring, but would you ever come to think that if you cared enough about those people you would enjoy time with them when they are well? But now, they can't do anything and you are there to see them. Where's the enjoyment in that? I mean, you get to spend time at the hospital with them and just talk to them. When you could have came there when you both were at better health.
So what I'm saying is, spend time with those you care about when you are in good condition. Live life and enjoy while you can. Don't go for the bad news, it's the good news that makes the heart warm.

Yup yup. You hit the ball park.
Only when its tragic then we actually do something about it, esp when it comes to families being sick/ hospitalized. I am guilty of that. But then i learned that life is too darn short so I always make it a priority to stop by and visit.
and i do agree with that green3er is saying, sometimes when there a problem, we always like to jump in a help/fix
Ahah. I think most of us are guilty of that. It's in the human nature.
Good blog Salavong. Interesting to read....brings up some things to think about.
Thanks.

hmm...I always try my best to visit my family and friends when they're both in good or bad health. There are times when you can't always make it or be around when there's good news. Same thing with bad news. Sometimes when I can't be somewhere when a family member or friend has an event going on, I feel bad, but I always asked how the event was. I fish out the good and bad news. I'll sometimes just call up someone and see how their day is.
The thing is, bad news always make it to the top chart because it's just a way of informing people of what's going on and what can be done in the future to fix it. Just like your example of being fired from a job. People want to dish that out of you because they may have a way to help you out so it won't happen at your next job. Or at least that's what I think. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I hope you get what I was trying to say.
