A list of rants:

1. It's just so irritating to find girls who are completely different online than what they appear in real life. I mean, some people aren't genuine anymore. They're completely wild online yet they're so innocent in real life.

2. I find it completely embarrassing for girls who post 100+ photos of themselves in the same position and post them up--on top of that, telling everyone to comment their photos.

3. When will some boys ever stop being horny online, esp. in the HP chat, they think girls will react to their "smooth moves". (I hate how conversations start out with "411?") Sometimes it's just nice to talk with a complete stranger without knowing every single little thing about them.

4. Girls, I can't stress how much you need to cover up on your photos; Showing off skin is a sign of desperation. No, really. It is. You're someone's daughter and yet you can show off skin to the rest of the world. You never know where that photo might end up.

5. It's even more embarrassing when there are hate messages/comments around that are viewable to the rest of the world.

--All in all, what I'm trying to get out there is that: what is your meaning in life? don't we value what our ancestors have done for us?

It's just a pity to see that some people just don't care about who they are as a HMONG person anymore. Hmongs have a lot of dignity and I just hope that those who still have that with them, are the ones that will go far in life. Those who are tossing it away, best of luck to them.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this.

1. I see nothing wrong with that, they're able to show a side of them online that they can't or will not show in real life.
2. They like to look at themselves, what can I say? *Shrugs.
3. Guys get lazy. Explains why they like to shorten every word, phrase, sentence.
4. It's for the attention.
5. I think that's the reason why they do make hate messages/comments visible to the public. It's to show others of what they have to say to each other.
Big smile

"Let me clarify something with you - how can you go far in life when you, personally you, have issued with self biased, judgmental, prejudice, discriminating, criticism, and is a very stereotypical person? "

@yum: --rofl, clarify that again--Having such things will only make you continue to strive further in life and not get lost in that little depressed hole you don't want to fall into. & Most people who have already gone to their top of their game have had such views, and who knows? I might change my thoughts on this the next minute/day/year~~

I appreciate your thought on this,-- but is having things that annoy me cause me to be "self biased, judgmental, prejudice, discriminating, criticism, and very stereotypical"? I think I'm missing some kind of point here. & no, I don't have a problem with going onlineLOL, it's just those sorts of things I see online that annoy me to death. But then again, yes, I shouldn't let those things get to me~~

@Expected: ROFLMAO, I see where you're coming from.

--Exactly why we have rant threads, correct???

But, what exactly is this RANT THREAD supposed to do? Help me in some sort of way? Is it for other members to help and rant along with the same things I'm ranting about or to criticize? --Cause then that's not really granting you permission to rant out your pet peeves...(I've been seeing some, or a lot, of negativity going around in the forum;; Members putting one another down, it's just wrong & quite embarrassing.)

Again, WE have dignity and pride--Some people shouldn't toss it aside so easily.

Toodles my loves! <3

There is no right way of using this "rant thread." Use it however you want, as long as it doesn't violate the rules and regulations. Smile Some simply write down their anger, knowing that another person will eventually come across it. Others want support from other people. Different cases, different expectations.

The forum is merely a highway that we all travel on. The purpose of a highway is for transport but how people use it is really up to them. So many cars on the highway but where they're headed, nobody knows but the drivers. It may range from a mile travel to a thousand miles of travel but where people go and how they use the highway is dependent on the person themselves. As Karen has replied to you, as long as it doesn't break any rules then you're in the safe zone. Speed limits were made for a reason but every so now again you will see those who speed over the limit. That is why they have patrols on the highway to try to keep it under control just as Karen, a moderator here, tries maintain a healthy forum.

Smile

Hmmmm, why does it matter to you what other ppl do online?

Online is where People show a side of them, no one know of, offline. Guys are 'horny' online because maybe thats the closest they can get to talking 'dirty' to a girl, if its really a girl. Girls tend to show off their body because they crave for the attention. Maybe they cant get that in real life, knowing there are many 'horny' perves on here, they get A LOT of attention. Guys starts conversation with "411 please" because thats the only pick up line they learn so far.

I dont see how "online" conversations or actions affect us as being HMONG. I can be the 'horniest' guy on hp and still value my beliefs and culture.

@ABLIS: It might not matter to you as much, but it matters to me; I understand your points and views; But I never said that "online" convos/actions affect us being Hmong. Like you said, you can be the horniest guy on hp and still value your beliefs and culture; But don't you find that little embarrassing? In that case, boys get blown off for doing that as well and maybe they need to come up with a new way to score girls or something;~~~I'm just saying there are other ways for boys to chat; But I'm not here to preach about HOW we should chat and that it should be the only way because that wouldn't be right;

At the same time, I just want to know WHY people are becoming this way; You can say they want to show the other side of them blah blah blah; but it's something I still don't and will probably never understand yet due to personal sides/views on certain things.;

But please; continue to persuade me that it doesn't matter or why it shouldn't matter about what we say/do online--

Thanks for the replies!

Those a two very ironic statements. I can't tell if you're using sarcasm or simply saying that so that there would be more people replying to your post.

Like you said, "due to personal sides/views on certain things," you'll never be able to understand. Seems like your views and opinions are pretty set and stable on the net life already. Persuasion would be a waste.

Wow I totally agree with you renowoman...

So can I get your 411?

Lol jk, but yeah good points. A lot of the things on online communities are pretty rediculous. But don't let these folks get to you or else you'd be no better than them. Just point and laugh at the people on HP or the chat rooms and tell a friend how ridiculous some people can be.

As for the: no shame and no pride for being Hmong; everybody have thier own bars set for shame and pride. Just depends on how you've grown up and bow you've been brought up.

Smile now, cry later.
