001) Introduction:
The chat room is a mess and can wrench in chaos anytime. I hope that everyone will abide by these rules. Starting 2010, DigiChat: Hmong Pride, will become more strict to better the chat room. What I aim for is a clean, healthy, chat room that is appropriate to all ages.
002) Rules:
No flooding: Typing several lines quickly. Logging into multiple accounts and typing simultaneously. Logging in and out quickly. Using a certain format to fill up the screen. Typing the same sentence/word/letter over a period of time.
No Kicking: Kick exploiting. Kicking yourself. Third party kicking applications.
No profanity and derogatory terms.
No harassing: Sexual comments. Repeated attacks. Intention to annoy.
No explicit materials: Adult sites. Nude photos. Sexual conversations.
003) Ban Length:
Flooding: One day (24 hours) ban. If flooding continues after first ban, additional days will stack upon each additional offense.
Kicking: One week ban, (7 days, 168 hours) If kicking continues after first ban, additional weeks will stack upon each additional offense. A ban appeal is also required. (See below for information)
Profanity: One day (24 hours) ban. If profanity continues after first ban, additional days will stack upon each additional offense.
Derogatory: One day (24 hours) ban. If profanity continues after first ban, additional days will stack upon each additional offense.
Sexual Harassment: One day (24 hours) ban. If harassment continues after first ban, additional days will stack upon each additional offense.
Posting Explicit Materials: One day (24 hours) ban. If posting continues after first ban, additional days will stack upon each additional offense.
Other Reasons: Ban time will vary depending on the chat master who is responsible. A ban appeal may be required. Chat masters must assign a reasonable ban length.
004) Unbanning Yourself:
To unban yourself, you should submit a request to me. Upon your request, you must also include your IP address. If you don't know how to view your ip address, then visit http://www.whatismyip.com/ to get view your IP. Send your requests to my message box.
If you were banned for one of the reasons stated above excluding kicking, you must serve your time. You may request a chat master to unban you after your time has expired.
If you were banned for kicking, you must write an 1000 word count essay on why you acted the way you did. Please post your ban appeal essay in the forum Hmong Pride Information. After you have posted your essay, email your IP and the link to your appeal to hpdigichat@gmail.com. A chat master will then read and decide whether your essay is acceptable. After you've served your time, a chat master will unban you. If you believe that you've already served your time but haven't been unbanned yet, you may request for a chat master to unban you.
005) Warnings:
If I feel the need to warn you before banning you then I will. Otherwise you will simply be disconnected with no warnings. If you have a problem with it, then try to stick to the rules.
The rules, regulations, and procedures in this thread are subject to change without prior notice, if necessary, to keep DigiChat in compliance with HmongPride rules and regulations of the chat room.

UGH dang, I wish I would have read this before I flooded the chatroom. lols seriously tho, do we have to go through that whole emailing ip to email thing? I understand you guys are trying to keep the room clean and appropriate, but if we do get banned, you guys should keep up with unbanning people when their time is up, for 1st time offenders anyways.

To Jin: Not all bans are manually done. I've asked for the manual bans to be ISP bans so that it'll be easier to sort out the those who were banned by ourselves, the cm. You probably didn't read the whole thing but you do get release after you've served your time. That is, if you were manually banned and in our records.
About the email: It's a way of being organized. If everyone waited for me to log on DigiChat so that they can ask me to unban one of their friends then that would be centuries as I sometimes stray away very long from here. I do, do a daily check up on the ban list and I'm off to doing whatever I was doing. Sending an email is a quicker way than asking someone to ask me to unban you.
I hope you understand.
To everyone else: We've all broken the HP rules once in our HP lives. Your past is the past and I won't bring it up on you. Just behave now because I'll be watching the room silently.
Btw, I have nothing better to do with my life than devote myself to moderating the room so hate me, or love me, for I am only trying to accomplish something. Also, everything would be fine if things weren't destined to be so filthy in the future.

If it comes to it, and you seriously need to be unbanned, I can unban you for a small fee of $800.85 =)
Just kidding, I will occasionally wipe out the entire ban list. But this only happens once in a blue moon, or if someone happens to request to be unbanned without giving me an IP Address.

In the chat room, I have the privilege to view others IP but without that power my privilege would be gone. There are times when you can't always view someone's IP, for ex, HmongPride probably doesn't keep a log of user IPs so it's hard to determine which IP belongs to who. Outside of HP is the same thing. If the website does not record the IP of the users that visits them then you can't view someone's IP. Although those are just some ways to see someone's IP, you can also check someone's IP via MS-DOS prompt on MSN. Complicated but with a little help of google, you can achieve almost anything if you desire.

There is no point in knowing someone's IP Address. It doesn't do anything, you only need it if you're a server administrator. Sure, download DDoS programs, Nuke programs and attempt to make their internet slower, but then their ISP will trace you down because you went through their router. Most ISP don't do anything as they *assume home computers have firewalls* built to protect against DDoS attacks(Basic Windows Firewall stops 99.9% of these attacks), but **IF you happen to tap even the littlest bit on their router firewall, you're out of luck. Proxy's won't help you there either, NAT Translation, and PnP lookup can get your real IP and get it reported to your ISP in less than 24 hours. Harhar. =)
An IP address only shows the location of your Internet Service Provider, not YOUR address when you look it up in sites like http://ws.arin.net/whois/ "Hackers" will need more powerful tools to get your real address, and it hasn't been done in under 6 hours.

How do we get banned from Digichat when we havent been there in days? lol
this has happened a few times to me, and i dont mean to be complaining, but the "staff" of HP change their SNs so IDK who to ask to unban me, but im guessing it would be "im with stupid" person.
But i would just like to know how you get banned without even being on lol. Or maybe its just a sign for ppl like me to get the hell off HP digichat =]

Then I guess you really never read the rules every time you logged into HP huh? Anyways, they're no longer in effect so that being said, everyone is again free to curse, harass one another, post explicit links, flood and kick. I'm sure all that isn't ridiculous then.

If you were unexpectedly banned, it may be because a Chat Moderator banned your ISP, therefore it automatically bans you(As well as anyone else using your Service Provider) from entering the chatroom.
