Do you think you would make a good Vauv or Nyab?

In the Hmong society, there's so many factors to being a good Vauv or Nyab. There's tons of responsibilities that come along with being a married couple, it's not just about you two making endless love.
So personally, do you think that you have what it takes to be a good Vauv or Nyab?

Yeah, I could become a great vaus or soninlaw, one time I woke up 5 in the morning sharpening knives to get ready to go kill 4 cows with my ex girlfriend family...It was fun, but yet..hard work and knowlege to traditional traits isn't just being a great vaus..its the love and care that you give to the family..prove to the inlaws that you there for thier daughter..thats what I see..etc etc...lol

Honestly, i know my responsibilities how to be & not to be a good nyab..what to do & what not to do but i don't know if i can be a good nyab. depending on much the family expect from me. i might not be or might be. but i can say, i am not perfect nor the most helpful girl out there but i can try to be good. so the answer is until then, i will tell you. lol

I just got married recently and I am doing my best as a nyab. I'm not trying to be the best nor am i showing off but I'm cooking and cleaning. haha I think i will be one. i think. haha

I think I would be a terrible nyab. I'm so bad at cooking that sometimes I can't even eat my own food. Haha. I'm not good at speaking Hmong, and I'd feel uncomfortable speaking to my husband's parents in English. Maybe that's why I'm so nervous to meet his family.

This is a stereotypical attribution to the Hmong folks.
As long as I have a high-paying oocupation, then my in-laws will surely love me! ^_^ Otherwise, having a 2-4 years college degree will give me the respect from them.

To be a good nyab, you have to do whatever your mother in law tells you. If not, she goes off and talks sh.t about you and tells her son to divorce you. To be a good vauv, all you need to do is have a job and go drink beer every weekend.
That's a WTF situation.

I say "Job well done" to those Nyabs who meet their expectations. For one, I will never tolerate a husband who expects me to be there for him and his family (he's going to marry INTO mines, so he can dream on about me living with him and his parents). And two, I cannot cook for the life of me. But of course, I shall tolerate his family if need be.
My in-laws will LOVE me.

ummmm. a wife. at the moment, I will have to say no. I will make a horrible daughter in law... I am at the age where I am very selfish about sharing myself, and I just want to focus on what I am looking for. Cooking, cleaning, and all those other house chores, i am good with them, and putting up with people, i am okay with that too, but talking about right now, I will make a horrible HOUSE WIFE!!!!! ^.^

I read half ways and everyone believe they going to be the best Vauv or Nyab!
I'' be honest, I can't even kill a pig/cow and EVEN a chicken... (Though I do want to see a headless chicken running) I can only do the afterward part... cutting the meat!
Also while driving... I'll stop my car just to let the squirrel run to the other side but when I see a deer... I charge them with my cars...
Also I'm worth 20k... Any hp ladies want me? I'm Americanize... its time for hmong women to pay for educated men!
So NO, I'm not a good Vauv because we will end up in debt and probably end up drop kicking my wife =P
