How to play the guitar

I started playing the guitar a few days ago. It was something that I had always wanted to do, however never got chance to when I was younger. It seems simple, however can be very complex w/ all the different elements in guitar playing.
Does anyone have any advice on guitar beginners? Any other recommendations or suggestions?

Well, when i start playing guitar, the chords were the first thing i learned! practice from shifting C to Em. ez huh? then now do bar chord G to A hehe, onces you start shifting smoothy, its ez after that!!!!! well i usually practice my D chord scale to get my hands smooth at shifting! D Chord Scale-----> D-Bm-F-G..... Strumming is D,U,D,U,D,U,D...... a easy song on the guitar you can learn is vim koj daim duab by sounders-----> chords are A-F#M-E-D......Strumming is D,D,D,D,U,D,U,D,U,D.<------ those chords are the main song, very ez!!!!!

It all takes practice.
Don't leave your guitar alone, keep on strumming and picking on it.Depends on the style you like. There many styles and types when it comes to guitar.
Have motivation and keep on playing.
Well for me when I started, I started out picking than strumming. I find strumming harder than picking. But as for now just practice your fingerings first. It may hurt but it'll be worth it at the end =)
