New Land for the Hmong People

Please excuse me for this if I post up the wrong informations.
My boyfriend's father went to a meeting with the elders and discuss about GVP and Thailand. It was said that the Thai Government allow them to buy a land there and make it Hmong's Land. They need about 1 million of Hmong people there or more for the new land. So I'm not sure what's going but this is just recent news.
If it's true, would you guys go back? I can look on both sides for this, so I can't pick

Not going to happen....it's just another scam....besides, Hmong people are too dumb to run a country. it's just going to be infested with a lot of corruptedness.

Sad as it is. I do have to agree with you.
Hmong ppl can't handle a country on their own.
They need to build up stronger leaders and the elders need to stop being so persistent on keeping every Hmong tradition.

Whether it is a scam or not, it is not a nice way to put down your own kind. Like I've told many people before, the only reason why we can't move up like others because we kept looking down at our own kinds. What's the point? How can we help out other if we kept on doubting?

well if it is true, no i will not go. to me, there is no going back, because i never lived there and because i was born in the U.S.so home to me is in the U.S. Hell yeah! hahaa
and because ive been to the East (Laos)before. i don't like it there, it is dirty and very hot.
i prefer the U.S.

We can just send all the old peeps back to Laos to bury their ass cause that's what they really want in the end. They just want to die in the land they were born in. As I would rather just live in the U.S. and die here.

Hmm, a return to the Homeland??? Sounds fishy. If we're really able to gather respectable people and form some kind of a strong governmental leadership, then I think it could be possible. But we would need help from other countries to keep assurances that we wouldn't be repeating history all over again.
Who knows, if we did end up getting a plot of land there, would you think Vietnam would not want to massacre us and plot a genocide? It's very difficult. It'd be cool to know we have a place to call our own.
