There may or may not have been blogs and posts like this already but the title is self-explanatory and it concerns me a little. I've read a few of the blogs already made and its comments and it's evident that the ratio of those who are versed in writing Hmong to those who can't is generously a 1:10. With that in mind...peb cov ua mi tub mi nyuam hais puas tau rau cov ua niam ua txiv thiab cov xib hwb qhia ntawv Hmoob tias lawv qhia tsis zoo thaum peb cov lus Hmoob ploj lawm? (In all honesty I've heard from friends that Hmong courses in universities and colleges are taught in a very over-complicated manner) But, how come none of us are attempting to at least blog something entirely in our native tounge? I understand the Hmong ideology to an extent that one shouldn't stand by aside and yap to you the others who are trying, right? I'm probably not the best but...yog tias cov phooj ywg sawv daws xav pom thiab ho nyiam cov blog xws li, dab neeg, tso dag tso luag thiab sib pauv tswv yim thov nej pab comment pub rau kuv thiab seb kuv yuav ua li cas txuas ntxiv thiaj zoo. However on a good note, I love how creative some of the members are and I'm also very appreciative that some of us actually does excel and pay attention in English classes.

I'm fluent in Hmong but can't write a single word. If there were voice blogs, I could probably voice a whole Hmong Voice Blog. But there isn't voice blogging on HP so you will probably not see anything very Hmong from me. I'm very ashamed at myself for not knowing how to read or write Hmong properly. I felt like a kindergarten the way I had to read and pronounce each Hmong word before writing those comment.

haha thats sad Rok hehe. i used to be like you, cant read a word in hmong and cant even write in hmong haha until 4 months ago i took hmong class at my school. its quite a fun class since its mostly hmong so we all and the professor likes to joke around a lot. Plaub hli xwb es kuv thiaj li paub sau lus Hmoob lawm. Kuv paub cov "basic" xwb haha. welps im getting better and better.

It's not a common thing for Hmong people not to be able to read or write in Hmong. The current style of Hmong writing hasn't even been around for long, nor has it been taught? Not only that, it's hardly recognized as a foreign language. There's nothing with being unable to read or write Hmong for me, because I can speak Hmong perfectly fine. I have no problem with speaking Hmong.
Besides, Hmong don't even have a "single common" language nor writing. We have "Hmoob Green" and "Hmoob White" dialect; and we have "Hmoob La-teng" writing and "Hmoob CaoFa" writing. So how are we ever to learn it all?
And if you forget all that, we don't even have a dictionary.
