Operating Systems?
So, which operating systems do you use or have used before?
Right now, I have Windows XP SP3. I like it, I don't think I'll ever upgrade to Vista unless I get a free copy or they make it better. But yeah, I got a free copy of Windows XP SP2 when I went to college, since my college gave them out to the technology students.
In the past, I've used Ubuntu. I liked the feel and use of it, but then I missed my Windows Gaming since I was too lazy to use a Windows emulator. I've currently installed XUbuntu 9.04 on my spare PC to make a file server; which I plan on finishing since I got bored waiting for it to update completely. Back a long time ago when I got my second computer, I had Windows 98 installed on it, but now I've upgraded it. I had some test computers that ran Windows 2000. So far, XP is the one that I like the best though.
Most of the computers I've used are XP, including this one.
I've tried using MAC before but I really don't like how the whole system works and stuff.
i downloaded window7 a few weeks ago but dont have the balls to install it. it suppose to be a new window with good features and use less memory than xp and vista. but damn i feel that it need a better system to run it...
I use what everyone else uses. Whatever works.
Using Windows 2003 Server Enterprise on 1 desktop, Windows XP Professional SP3 on another Desktop, Windows Vista Ultimate on this laptop, Dual USB Boot with Linux From Scratch.
I find all OS to be basically the same. Linux makes me feel more secure about items being lost from viruses, Vista runs about 5 times faster than XP Professional, so videos don't lag behind at all, and my server PC... well it's never off, and has every backup file I need in case I lose somthing. =)
At the moment, i am using Window XP SP3. Vista is having too much problems with certain programs and requires you to bypass the safely measures. Nonetheless, Vista looks pretty.
I will be upgrading to Window 7 when it is stable and is compatible with the university's computers.
Vista for me because I just bought a new computer. =) The only distinguish between a XP and a Vista is just the extra features and a few changes. And pretty much you don't need to update as much when using a XP.
But... the main point is as long as your computer has access to the internet and can log into Hmongpride. Haahaa.
Currently using Window 7 Ultimate!!also my number one OS but sometime i use XP SP3, Vista Ultimate, and Ubuntu 10.04 on my virtual machines in vmware workstation and virtualbox!!!!i was trying to put mac in my pc but i have a slow computer so i cant...

I have XP also, I've never ran any linux ever. Never touched a mac either. But I've ran 2k, Millennium, 98, and I find XP, was a huge improvement from those days. XP still looks very nice nowadays too. I'm pretty sure everybody who's not familiar with PC's will usually run Vista because of it's new stylish look. But most of them probably don't know that XP is compatible with almost everything you find. Vista has a long future waiting for it, and I'm with Peter on this, I'll wait until Vista's been improved.
