I'm sure every young person about my age, all agree with me our ways need to be change in order for our people to make it in the new world.

Kidnapping,
Constant Drinking
Last name
Clans
Weddings

just a few of the things that need a bit of changing to them for us to make it in the new world

--The kidnapping part im sure I dont need to say much about it, it pretty much states everything about it

--The constant drinking--

of our people its like WOW! our whole releigon, culture is all around drinking?? like really that needs to stop, we have great people, smart people, people who can go and do great things, but by the time they reach the age of an adult they're drunks, and all they do is drink, and wheres theres drinking theres problems, I'm sure you all see this, all of our great men are drunks, and if you cant drink you're look down apond, I say its time for the change, This needs to STOP the drinking needs to be turn down LIKE A LOT for use to make it

--Last name/Clans--
Our bonds between the clan needs to break down a bit, we're to bound to our clans that, our people aren't united because of that, you hear of oh the xiongs did this or the vangs are like that or the yangs, lors, hers.. .ect.. and because of that we kinda cut eachother off as a whole people, we're kinda sorta out into our own clans and help our clans more then our people as a whole, we cut eachothers clans down and make sure none of them make it in return the same is done by eachother clans, this need to stop, we gotta stop thinking about just our clan, and start thinking more as a whole people, we need to fully unite once again under one banner, be a whole people again, a true united hmong people again

--Weddings--

not a lot of you guys may know this nor do most of the older folks, but our weddings that we do now, weren't always the way it is now, it was was once very pretty with a lot of other things then just massiave drinking, the drinking was only taken it because our people were always at war, and always migrating and always on the move, so the wedding was cut short and made into what it is today, but at one time, it too was somthing really pretty and beautiful, or so I've been told, I'm not sure of the whole extent to it, but if some of you guys have more info on this please add, I want to dig up our past and really know what our "real" Weddings were like before we became over whelm with war

I'm sorry about the lots of reading : ) lol but its a insight on what i beleive needs some changing to our culture, for us

True that there is a change, but as this "change" progresses, many Hmong are forgetting their own culture.

It's difficult to change and still hold true to your traditional beliefs, since the cultures in the USA are all fused together.

overall, nothing is going to change, if no one steps up. my folks and cousins are changing the way women cooks and men sit at the table and drinks. Laughing out loud i think that is a very good thing. im so proud of them. =]

Yes, my default says that I SMACK! so BEWARE. ♥Masterkayo♥

Of all the millions of wrong things that the Hmong community needs to rectify that's what you came up with? Go participate more in ur community, find what the real problems are, come back and give a real list. that's just shameful what u came up with. i wouldnt even up any of those near my top 100.
