The Hmong Taboo: "Dating your brother/sister."
Common sense, Hmong taboo is dating your own last name.
How does a relationship like this happen? What do you think?
Love does not solve everything! Love does not conquer all!
Love is just love.
Just because you have the same last name it doesn't mean that you are related. I believe you can love someone no matter what. Size, height, religion, race, ethnicity, last name, gender, you can't do anything but fall when love strikes. Love has no barriers.
heres the news: First-cousin marriage isn't a surefire recipe for congenital defects. True, marriage among close kin can increase the chance of pathological recessive genes meeting up in some unlucky individual, with dire consequences. The problem isn't cousin marriage per se, however, but rather how many such genes are floating around in the family pool. If the pool's pretty clean, the likelihood of genetic defects resulting from cousin marriage is low. On average, offspring of first-cousin unions have a 2 to 3 percent greater risk of birth defects than the general population, and a little over 4 percent greater risk of early death.
You may, however, marry a second cousin. The relationship between first cousins is genetically too close and COULD produce genetic aberrations and/or pass on recessive traits.
So as far as Hmong ppl goes, someone with your same last name isn't neccessarily GENETICALLY linked to you, UNLESS you ARE first cousins. So, just know your family tree and history u nasty asses!!!
Yes, a pastors daughter married another person with the same last name. it was straight taboo and of course everyone talked about if for a long time....
oh! for our hmong we cant married the same last name.
because if you are, later in life it could be either you or your wife/husband going to die sai sai. Cant live long.
I dont really care about marrying your own last names. As long as you're both willing to put up with all the BS that comes along the way then its all good
Gosh! you're so wrong. Koj puas paub hais tias ntawm peb Hmoob li kev cai, ib lub xeem ib yam tsis pub sib yuav na! Ruam npua! =)

whom said you cant **** your own cousin? if not blood related, ill shove my dick in her mouth and even fuuck her harder to make it worth the taboo. **** that ****, i will suck that puzzy until it dry out. if a cousin want it and i will be glad to provide it. i dated vangs before and i find it even more enjoyable.
As time goes by, generations these days will be beyond the boundaries of dating the same last name. What old people wouldn't approve must have some reason behind why we aren't allowed to.
Just because you are the same last names, doesn't mean that you are brothers and sisters.
hahaha funni subject
If you're willing to face the consequences, then go right ahead.
Love is a strong word, it makes you blind and do things that you had never expected.
hmmm....to my thoughts...its juss wrong
People need to stop being an idiot. Follow your religion, culture, and belief. Don't screw your life just by one mistake.
Its ****ed up. Its called horny. History has thats vang people ****s and dated their own cousins.

Another thing, i'll f u ck your mom too, but in the butt only.
Why is it only wrong in the Hmong culture? Every other race can marry someone with the same last name as them. I say, as much as people want to make it feel wrong, love is still love. Imagine if you dated your gf/bf for years and later found out that they have the same last name as you, you're not going to break up with them cause of that right? Plus I have a cousin who's born a Yang but her mom got remarried to a Moua, therefore, they made her a Moua and she later gets marry to a Yang, yet her husband do not know. Ha. But still, love is love. Ain't nothing wrong with it. People need to accept that, every love is different. And you can't choose who you fall in love with.
You fools! Are you people blind and stupid? You stupid mother ****ers are dating, ****ing and married to your ****ing brothers and sisters.

Answer this question: How are two people with the same last name brothers and sisters?
Just because you are the same last name, it doesn't mean sh!t. What? Just because you are a Vang as me you're my brother/sister because you are related to my uncle's daughter's friend's grandma's cousin's aunt's grandpa's uncle?
Please realize the every group is not perfect. We can not stick to the traditional rules anymore. Why? Because we're not perfect.
It's 2010. There are going to be Hmongs that are gay, bisexual, transexual, taboo, or whatever in the world that you can think of. Its going to happen. There are reasons for this happening. Learn to ACCEPT it. Because its not going to stop.
If people say that two people with the same last name are consider related then I say everyone on planet Earth is related in a way.
DOH!
if ur gonna taboo might as well get high first.
Get it. Hit it. Leave it.
The end.
When you say hit, I hope you're talking about psychical abuse, b/c doing your sibling is gross.
Incest = WTF.
But anyway, I just wanted to point out the yesterday I was working on my w. history final reviews, and I had to take notes on Ancient Greek gods and stuff. They married their siblings like, 9 times outta 10! AAAEEEEE! Weird! All you creeps who's thinking of dating/fccking your sib, I bet you've thought about that in real life too then, right?
No? Then STFU!
Well then I guess we're all brothers and sisters in some way. THE END.
Retards!

It's true....sometimes I don't get how the same last name can be called brother and sister....but we still call each other brother and sister....like me and Jang....we call each other brother and sister when we see each other in chat, but I don't know how we are related. I don't date my own last name....but if I come across those who do, I say ok, maybe give a weird face only to digest it in first....but....I can see that things [love] happen.
if u ppl actually read my previous comment, then there shouldnt b anymore discussion on this topic. cuz ive said it all
Oh...LoL...I was gonna comment on your previous comment, I forgot. LoL sorry.
Yes, agreed. Genes. That's the scientific reason why last names shouldn't date each other. I mean, if you really wanna know, then you're gonna have to go way way way back into your history and accurately know who was married to who and/or who had a kid with who. But at that point, you also have to make sure that those answers you find are most accurate....especially 'cause it's human, and human lie. And genes can go haywire too, perhaps from previous happenings or natural disaster. And the art of story telling isn't what it is now back then. It was by word of mouth....then some chicken scratches in the dirt or something easily destroyed....then a harder surface with improved tools....and it goes on to where it's now comps. And even then, genes are still present. You just don't know where. The last name is....a marker of, this sounds bad, but it's the only way I can think of saying it now, a marker of who's been where.

Love.
The answer is simple as that. Love makes a person do things that they never would normally do.
